This album debuted at the end of high school. I dropped it right before we graduated that spring in 2004. Amic Nieto was a name that I came up with to represent that I was taking on Hip Hop in its third generation (80s, 90s, 00s) and was thus a nieto (grandson) to Hip Hop itself.

Not gonna lie, most of the album is pretty emo. It reflects a grey period of me coming into my own, getting my heart broken for the first time by a señorita, and wondering what is next. If the lyrics to this joint are not about my heartache, then they are just random wordplay and verbal acrobatics to smooth jazzy samps.

"So Many Stylez" continues to be one of my favorite tracks of all time. The chorus, verses, cuts, and beat came together so well! This album would be my blue period, as most of the samples are very jazzy, classical and mellow. "Two Turntables . . ." breaks down the entire albums struggle. Love hurts, and then it makes for great song lyrics!

Once again, this album came out at a time when I was younger, angry for no reason, and armed with curse words galore. The final album was released as my final senior English project. Bump this on a chill rainy day!
