about

This song is about a Syrian girl from Miami that I met in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea on my first trip to Europe. She asked me about my Bonnaroo shirt and the rest was history. The song is divided into two parts. Part one is about how we met and my trip to visit her in Gainesville at UF. As the second part begins, "A second verse was never meant to be written . . ."

Amerra died tragically at the age of 18. I'll never forget that we spoke on instant messenger the night it happened. She said she was going out. A few days later I see online that her funeral has been scheduled. Friends - please don't drink and drive! And live your life to the fullest! We never know when it's time to go home . . .
