I originally recorded this song as a sophomore at UK. After help with the lyrics from a profesora from San Salvador, El Salvador and later on from a profesora from Valencia, España, I recorded the final version at Jambox Studios in Manhattan - NYC. I was interning there after completing the AET (Audio Engineering Techniques) course in the summer of 2009. Shout out to the Jambox Family and mi querido Harlem!
This song is about Intandehui, a beautiful Mexican girl from Oaxaca. She was named after an Aztec goddess. I didn't meet her, but rather saw her in a video in Spanish class at UK. After briefly falling in love with her, I wrote the lyrics and added in elements of Kokopelli, a Native American legend, that was a part of my final project for that class. In case you were wondering, Kokopelirrojo is the fusion of Kokopelli and pelirrojo. Wonder if you can guess who that refers to?
