"War Too Hard" is the song that got the momentum going for the "8 Banners" project. Luke started sending me beats online about a year and a half prior to dropping this album. I was shocked at the skill and quantity. The first time I heard the beat code name "Chileo Pines," I freaked out at work and wrote a whole verse to the intro right there.

After that, we came up with the idea to do a new MW project. My goal was to get Coast and KY OG MCee King Greene to come back from retirement to rock the mic. After months of persistence, King Greene sent us a verse for the second half of this track.

The chorus is a throw back to a line in King Greene's "Municipality" where he laments on the fact that he didn't like to go to war with other MCees because he would war too hard on them. We ended up making this the concept and hook of the track.
